Famous Chapters

Dear NRHC Family,

We are now three weeks into our teaching series on the Sermon on the Mount. In these famous chapters, we see a challenging, yet practical call to follow Jesus in our everyday lives. Just this past week, Dan Johnston talked about intentionally being involved in the world yet remaining distinct as we live as salt and light. And, as Matthew talked about in week one, in order to do this and be who Jesus calls me to be, I must depend on Him to transform and empower me. If you've been on vacation or missed any of the previous sermons in this series, you can always catch up here.

This Sunday, we're going to dive into some of the most well-known words in all of Scripture, the Lord's Prayer. As Tim Keller said, "The Lord's Prayer may be the single set of words spoken more often than any other in the history of the world. Jesus Christ gave it to us as the key to unlock all of the riches of prayer. Yet it is an untapped resource, partially because it is so very familiar."

I hope you'll join us as we take a fresh look at the topic of prayer. I want to encourage you to invite someone to join you this Sunday. Outside of Christmas and Easter, we see more first-time guests during the summer than any other time of the year. Individuals and families are open to visiting churches as they slow down a bit and are in a season where many of their normal routines are on hold. Take this opportunity to invite them. Pick them up and grab a coffee or donut on the way. We look forward to seeing you this Sunday!

One Life at a Time,
Andrew
