Personal Responsibility

Dear NRHC Family,

In John 20 Jesus tells us that just as the Father sent Him, so He sends us. 2 Corinthians 5 reminds us that we are ambassadors for Christ. And in Matthew 28, Jesus commands us to GO and make disciples. Connecting all of these, God has given us a mission and that is to join Him in building His kingdom—we all have personal responsibility in the mission! Not only are we called to engage in the mission, but that mission is not isolated to one particular place—our mission is right around us AND all the way to the ends of the earth. We are called to live missionally "here" (within our family, neighborhood, workplace, and city) as well as to go "there" (domestically and internationally).

One of the ways we do this as a church is through partnerships. This coming week begins the second of three trips to Boston this summer. We are sending a team of men and women to Boston to serve alongside our church partners, Redemption Hill Church and Indian Community Church. Matthew Cavin and I are excited to participate in this trip! Throughout the week, the team will be assisting with a big community outreach, known as "Soccer Nights", and other projects. As we serve on behalf of these churches, we will help to create connections and build bridges for these two churches in their respective communities. Please pray that RHC and ICC would have favor in their communities as they point people to Jesus. Please also pray for the team that we're sending, that we would have servant hearts and this trip would be a catalyst to grow in our relationship with Christ and to fuel our daily missional living.

Every single one of us at NRHC can participate in these partnerships in several different ways: praying, giving, and/or going. My hope is that you will seriously consider each of these. I can tell you with certainty that these partnerships are making a significant difference for our church partners, and they are also making a huge impact in our own faith family.

One Life at a Time,
Andrew
