Highlights

Dear NRHC Family,

Summer came… and now it's leaving us quickly! Over the next few weeks, kids will be heading back to school, and we'll return to our normal routines. August is a busy month for us as a church, and I want to share just a few of the highlights that are right around the corner:

  • We've talked about it for a while and EQUIP is finally here! This Sunday from 4:00-7:00 pm in the church auditorium, we'll host our special guest, Dr. Chuck Lawless, as we dig deeper into the topic of prayer. If you haven't signed up yet, you can do that here. We hope to see you there!
  • This fall we are excited to announce that our Student Ministry will be switching to Sunday nights. Our time and program will look the same--we'll just be meeting on Sundays. This new gathering night will begin on August 20th with PAINT WARS. That night come ready to get wet and messy. Wear a white t-shirt and bring a friend. Snacks will be provided and the event will be from 4:00-6:00pm. Then, on August 27th we will kick off our normal student worship gatherings on Sundays from 6:00-8:00pm. If you are a middle or high school student then we hope to see you this fall on Sunday nights!
  • Sunday, August 20th is Move Up Sunday in North Rock Hill Kids.  On this Sunday some of our age-graded groups will move to their new classrooms for the 2017-2018 school year.  If your child will be moving to a new classroom they will come home with a sticker telling you where to go on the 20th.  Emails will also be sent out to families that have children moving classrooms.  If you have any questions contact Jenny Provin

We hope to see you this Sunday as we launch a new teaching series called Discipline and Delight. The word “discipline” carries with it a variety of connotations, many negative. Especially when you attach the word “spiritual” to “disciplines”, you end up with a checklist of things that can often develop a picture of a dry, mundane pursuit of God. But the beauty of these “Spiritual Disciplines” is that they are actually meant to position us in the path of God pouring out His grace on us as He grows us towards Christ-likeness.

One Life at a Time,
Andrew
