Number One Request

Dear NRHC Family,

“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you." Matthew 5:10-12

As Christ-followers in the US, we are not often directly persecuted because of our faith. And when we are, it rarely compares to what other believers around the world face on a daily basis. In order to raise awareness and to support persecuted Christians from around the world, I want to encourage each of you to join in with thousands of others from everywhere who are specifically setting aside time this week to pray for the persecuted Church.

Prayer is the number one request of persecuted Christians. Here are a few specific ways to guide your prayer time this week:

  • Pray for strength and endurance for those who battle persecution daily; also, pray that they would be encouraged even in the midst of incredibly difficult circumstances and conditions
  • Pray for the physical safety of Christians around the world so that they might continue to spread the good news of the Gospel
  • Pray that God, in His grace, would use the obedience of these believers around the world to break barriers, move mightily, and save millions
  • Pray for a multiplication effect and that God would use these believers to form healthy, local churches where Christians can encourage one another and work together for greater Gospel impact

There are countless other ways to be in prayer for the persecuted Church, but hopefully that will help get you started. It's incredible, and humbling, to understand that God's mission extends far beyond our context and borders. He is ruling over all creation and moving in every corner of the world! Thank you for your prayers for those who so desperately need them.

One Life at a Time,
Andrew
