Sermon Series

Habakkuk

Our world is constantly bombarded with difficult situations, broken relationships, conflict, and suffering. Habakkuk knows this all too well. He cries out, “O Lord, how long shall I cry for help, and you will not hear? Or cry to you, “Violence!” and you will not save?” Habakkuk is overwhelmed and confused by the chaos around him. Sound familiar?

Family

What do you think of when you hear the word “family”? Is it an endearing word that elicits good memories and traditions? Does it bring resentment, regrets, and lists of things you wish were different? Do you think siblings? Parents?  Step families? Custody arrangements? Grandpas? Adoption? Singleness? Marriages? Divorces? One thing is for sure, whether we love our families or wish we could trade them in for a new one…we all have one!

Genesis

You’ve heard the stories before - the forbidden fruit, the talking snake, a catastrophic flood, promises of a great nation, a coat of many colors…

You Have ONE Job

My daughter went to prom recently.  During the weeks leading up to prom, there were signs all over the school advertising the sale of Prom Tickets and announcing the theme of this year’s event. One sign proudly read, “Ticets on sale” and then at the bottom, "Redeem at Interance”.  My reaction to these sorts of this is always, “Come on; you had ONE JOB!”

Before All Things

When you ask little kids what they learned at church or who was the Bible story about or why Paul went to Athens, most all will respond “Jesus!”

Advent

Christmas is a season of twinkling lights, carols, meaningful time with friends and family, tacky sweaters, and so many other traditions.  It’s also a season of expectation as we remember and celebrate the birth of Jesus.  This little baby, born in a Bethlehem manger, is the very middle of a much larger story that began before the foundation of time, was prophesied throughout history, and will culminate with His second coming. Come join us as we explore the unexpected nature in which Jesus came to rescue and redeem man as Emmanuel, God with us - the Unexpected King!
