D3 Weekend

Dear Faith Family,

Each year our students gather for an in-town retreat called D3 Weekend. D3 stands for discover, delight, and disciple. Our goal is that throughout the weekend students would discover new life in Christ, delight themselves in Him, and disciple others to do the same. At D3 we have seen students trust in Christ for salvation, renew their commitment to Him, and grow in their understanding of what it means to be a disciple of Jesus. If you have a middle or high school student, then they will not want to miss out on this weekend. We are excited about what God has for our students this year. Although this is an event for students, there are three main ways that you can be involved in D3 Weekend:

  1. PRAY
    • Pray for students, leaders, volunteers, the speaker, and our band.
    • Pray that students who don’t know Christ would place their faith in Him.
    • Pray that students would grow in their relationship with Christ and understand how God is calling them to live their life on mission.
  2. VOLUNTEER: Volunteering at D3 is an incredible way to be involved in the on- going discipleship of students at North Rock Hill. We are in need of several volunteers to help with meals, transportation, and other activities throughout the weekend. You can volunteer or get more information here
  3. PROVIDE A SCHOLARSHIP: Some of our students are in need of financial assistance in order to attend D3 Weekend. The full cost for a student is $75. If you feel led to give a partial or full scholarship you can go here , make a donation in the “Event Payment” box, and type “D3 Scholarship” in the Memo Line.

Our student ministry is not just a fun little environment for our kids to hang out at, but an integral part of our faith family at NRHC. We have a deep conviction that when we are called to see our world changed by the gospel one life at a time, that includes students all over our city. So as a faith family, please make plans to engage D3 weekend in one of the ways listed above.

Also, I will be hosting a meeting with student ministry parents this Sunday night at 6:15 in the elementary large group room upstairs at the church. We will discuss important calendar updates for the student ministry as well as our transition period in the Student Ministry. If you are a parent of students, I look forward to seeing you there! If you don’t currently have a student, please be in prayer for this transition season as we seek to walk in obedience with what God has for the future of our student ministry!

One Life at a Time,
Matthew
