Anticipation

Dear Faith Family,

I can’t believe I have already been here a month! I love Rock Hill and am very much looking forward to having the rest of my family here with me permanently. God continues to show us that this is the place we are supposed to be.

Last weekend was my fourth Sunday as your pastor, and the whole weekend was special. Did you feel it, too? On Saturday over 220 people from our church went out into the city and served so well. Thank you for loving our city through CityServe. Sunday the energy from CityServe carried into our gathering, and we had a great day together. If you weren’t there, it is hard to describe, but many have shared that as you left you knew you had been a part of something special. I felt it too. I think a lot of that feeling from CityServe and from last Sunday can be summed up in one word: ANTICIPATION.

I am praying that sense of anticipation carries us into a great Easter Sunday together. As believers, this is our day! Resurrection Sunday is the day we celebrate an event that changed everything. The resurrection is so significant that history was split because of it. Every time you write the date or look at a calendar you are seeing evidence of the event that was so important that the way me measure time is marked by the birth of Jesus! The resurrection changed how we view history, and the resurrection also changes people’s lives. Will you join me in praying a prayer of great anticipation for God to do what only He can do this Sunday? Pray with me for lives to change as people hear the message of the gospel. May many decide to follow Jesus Sunday. We want to celebrate that! May many start a journey that has them investigate the claims of Christ on their own. We will celebrate that, too!

Please remember that Sunday is a day where more guests will be with us than usual. Go out of your way to make them feel welcome. Some of us may need to give up our seats or park further way. Some of us need to get up early and come to the 8:30 service. All of us have a role to play in loving others well and helping them experience the love of Jesus on cd sEaster!

I’m fired up! I hope you are too. I can’t wait to hear more stories of people accepting your invites, and possibly accepting that following Jesus is life changing!

See you Sunday,
Chad
