Dear Faith Family,

As I write this, I am watching the clock; today is the day! It has been 34 days since I last saw my family, and in just a few hours, I will board a plane to go see them for a couple days. I am so excited. One of the things I am learning during this time while we are living 750 miles apart is just how intentional I have to be to stay connected with them. So much of being a family hinges on staying connected! But even though I get to talk to them daily and see them often through facetime calls, what I miss the most is sharing life with them and just being with them. I am convinced that once we are all back together again, living in the same home, I will be better at staying connected and appreciating them. I think I will be a better husband and dad. You know why? Because I know what it feels like to be separated from them.

I wonder sometimes, why that same thought process doesn’t carry over into my spiritual life. I was separated from God, and He made a way for me to be brought back into relationship with Him! But, if I’m honest, I’m not all that great at prayer. Are you? My first thought is usually not prayer. Is yours? This Sunday, we will finish up our series through the book of Colossians by digging into Colossians 4:2-6. We will see Paul’s challenge to followers of Christ. He challenges us to pray continuously, and to leverage our lives to make a difference. I hope you will decide today to be here Sunday! I am going to try and remember to pray for you ‘till then!

Have a great week!,

PS: I have an update. Our home in LA went under contract after only 12 days on the market; we have a closing date! Then God answered our prayer for a home here in SC. We put a contract on a home here last weekend and close at the end of May! We are overwhelmed at God’s faithfulness in all things, even in real estate.
